Kids Radeon 9800, 9700, 9600? Suggestions?

hello!
I am going to customize my own gaming computer from Velocity Micro, and I was wondering which video card would be suitable. Currently I play Battlefield1942 and Morrowind, and I just want a card that will have consistent framerates (im not too into overclocking etc, i just want a RELIABLE card). Which one should i choose? I good things about the new Radeon 9800 -- but ill have to give up an arm and a leg for that. Any ideas?
Thanks!

I play both of those games and they both run fine on my ti4200 so I don't think you'd have a problem with any of those video cards seeing as they all have alot more power than mine. Personally I'd get the Radeon 9700 Pro they seem to be pretty close to the 9800 but cost alot less.
http://www.newegg.com has good prices on video cards and their service is excellent.

You really can't go wrong with any of them, however, I'd save some money and go with the 9600 Pro, and pick up an Nvidia later

I have a 9700pro and it is a great card, it runs unreal2 and morrowind (and I would presume battlefield ) with max details and a steady fps.
I have had no trouble with it and the drivers have been improving with each revision. So it gets my vote, it will last you for years.

Oh yea, make sure you get a sound card the Morrowind supports! I got the Hercules GTXP and it lags like crazy because of the chip it uses, I forget the exact number but it's a C-Media and it's in the Read Me file.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. If you want top of the line, skip the 9800 and get a FX5900(its better). On the lower end both the 9700 and the 9600 are very good and beat out there nvidia counterparts. The 9600 isnt close to as good as the 9700, FYI.
