New phone lines

okay, here's my prob, i recently bought a PS2 with a Network adapter. I don't have a working phone line in my room because before we got DSL i had my own phone line/number in my room. It was primarily used for the internet, when we got DSL we got rid of that phone line, so that phone jack in my room is not wired to our original phone line/number. which would be easier, wiring that phone jack to the original phone line/number, or getting a broadband router and running RJ45 cable to my room? i would appreciate any help.
thanks
craig

Well wouldn't you much prefer to have broadband than dialup use for your Ps2? I assume you're not planning on moving your DSL modem around whenever you want to use your comp vs you PS2. I suggest just running RJ-45 and using a router. As far as the difficulty in wiring it, RJ-45 wont be any harder, just more expensive

Thanks for your help, i'm going to college in august and my roommate will have a computer and we will have broadband in our apartment, so i think i will go with the router and RJ-45 and in the fall i can just pack it up and take it with me.
once again, thanks

I'd go with that suggestion as well however if you wanted to hookup the phone anyways all you have to do is locate the phone switching box and connect the wires that are going to your bedroom to the already existing ones that have the main number. you may not even have to find the switching box the phone company may have it wired so all you have to do is change the wires on the jack..but either way its not all that difficult
