Power supply bad?
Hi all,
I got my chenming case from newegg today w/ psu included. I installed everything, went to turn it on and zilch, nothing, nada, zero....
The fan doesn't even turn. It didn't spin and then shut off or anything, it just never moved at all. Therefore, I'm thinking bad psu. How do I check it w/ a mutimeter to see if it's bad? (I know, I know, should've gotten an Antec)
The lousy thing about all of this is tomorrow's the fourth, so no one will be around to help at newegg, or to send me another, and the other bad part is I have everything already installed. Do you think they'll rma the psu w/out the case?
Thanks!
James

I'd ask if they would just RMA the PS. No need to send the entire case back. If the fans aren't spinning, we know for sure you're not getting 12vdc even without a meter. Did you check the line voltage switch in the back?
EDIT: you know, the little red slide switch where you set the input voltage to 110vac.

Yeah, no spin, no juice. Either DOA or something simple. Doubt the latter.

Xeroid, yup, It's @ 115. I also checked the switch, many a time, I've tried to power-on and the switch was on on the back. I'll reseat everything and try again *keeping fingers crossed*

Glad to hear it works. I was gonna suggest you give the fan a small twirl with a pencil or toothpick. Sometime the fan just needs a slight push.
