Serial ATA

Hi

I bought the NF7 mobo a few months back. I never used the supplied Serial ATA connector as I didn't know what it was for at the time. The manual is very unclear to one who knows little about motherboards.

I'm still not sure exactly what the benifits of using the ATA cable are and am wondering if its really worth bothering with given that my system is running perfectly fine at the moment. Are there problems I could run into?

I'm a musician and do quite a bit of audio recording as well as midi..will that in itself make the Serial ATA connection beneficial to me?

advice please

mart

Serial ATA is just a faster ATA. I think its only something like ATA150. The drives are faster.

It's a different interface for hard drives...until now all ATA hard drives have been IDE (parallel)...the serial interface is will prove much faster for future development....IMO it's useless right now
