We have continually hardened security in our free ZoneAlarm, as we do with all our releases, but we do not include all advanced features in this
basic product.
quite amusing how some people are willing to fork out $300 or more on a radeon or gf fx, hundreds for a dual proc mobo, but when it comes to software...no way ! paying for software ??? ha !
I agree, if ya take out the multi year deal it's only a few cents a day for an outstanding product.
If they didn't " reserve" a few features for those that pay then they prolly couldn't aaford to produce even the "basic" edition that millions of users have d/led and enjoy the benefits of for free.
If you d/l a program and enjoy/benefit from it then for the sake of progress buy the full version if it's offered, this will at least go someway towards getting the developers who spent their time/money writing the code for this to be motivated to write a bit more and provide updates etc for those that do and those that don't pay for the provision of such.
My problem with it is ZA leads you to beleive that you are secure when in fact your wide open to that type of exploit. At least TELL people that the freebie version doesnt protect against such and such type of exploits.
Heck I dont even use ZA and putting out a freebie with that type of exploit without telling people is criminal in my view
