ok I got a floppy installed it regestered and now I can use is as a floppy(floppy works) now what I wan't to remove xp compleatly and install it do I go to dos(I am asumming) but how do I get there

p.s. I am kinda new at this, the computer I have been using for years till the begining of this year was a 100mhz with a monitor from a commador I think 286 or 386 with win 95 upgraded to 98

I wan't to re-install xp with the cd I got with it start over from scatch

just insert the xp cd into the cdrom and boot to it. read the instructions on how to set it up


if it does not boot to the cd-rom go into the bios and change the boot devices to cd-rom first

Ur gonna need the XP boot floppy too i think im not to sure on this one my dad installed it for me.

ok now how do I get a xp boot floppy I originaly had just the xp cd and I installed a floppy how would I get a xp boot floppy, will this also help me in formatting the hard drive

have you tried booting from the winxp cd first?

ok got to dos is as simple as formatting hard drive then restarting computer with xp disk in and follow set up. I got that would you like to start from the xp disk message befor the xp starting screen(I am asuming that this is all I need to worry about) is there anything I might need to due before I erase my hard drive(I did all the copying of the files I wan't to keep)
I got to dos from the repair option on the cd
