slow startup winxp

Hey,

When ever I load winxp the startup to the menu where you select your user profile is really fast, and when i click profile everything loads fast but when i click the shortcut to connect to the internet it takes about 50 secs and before it took about 2 secs. I disabled the network connection and removed all crap programs from starting through msconfig, but still no luck. This happend when i tweaked something in the Windows SERVICES but I forgot what.
Any ideas on what slows connect to internet thing from loading??

what type of internet connection do you have. dial-up?

if you go to control panel->administrative tools->event viewer you can see if a program/service is crashing/hanging/whatever when it tries to connect.

also it could just be something with your ISP, you might try e-mailing them to see if there is a problem

Regarding windows services, try Black Vipers web site. It has one of the most extensive listings of services and what they do I have seen on the web. And in plain english, too!

Thanks for the tips, I do have dialup, and there are alot of errors
but this one occurs the most frequent infact everyday?

NUEWIZARD, something about the source NEUWizard not being able to be found and registry not having sufficient information?
