D2 True RPG Saga; anyone interested?
Judging from the HUGE D2 thread in this forum, I was wondering if anyone has participated in, or would like to participate in a different variant of D2.
Diablo II: LOD Hardcore - True RPG Saga
Goal: To build a cohesive team-oriented group in order to finish Hard Core D2:LOD in Hell Mode with a party of seven.
Conditions:
1. Start with a group of 7; 1 of each character class.
2. Work through each stage completely and as a group.
3. Items can only be used if found or bought within the current game. No muling!
4. All Magical, Unique, Rare and Set Items that were found will be left in town at the end of each session for distribution.
5. Character-specific items will be given to the appropriate character.
6. Gold will be equally distributed at the end of each session.
7. Once a team member has died, there is no replacement. The remaining members continue on until none are left.
What do you guys think? Looking to play D2 with some real team-based strategy... Your comments are most welcome.

Number 7 is going to kill you. Otherwise given the time and a decent server (ping time) on the host, I'd be interested.

I was trying to make the circumstances as true to RPG as possible. Also, do you think it is a problem if 6 of the members are at a certain level and the 7th member is at a much lower level? ie. The barbarian dies while every one else is level 24 and when he returns as level 1, have to get him to qualify for the current stage (Act III), further endangering the well being of the group?
The only way I know how to get rid of this problem is to play SC... but SC is so BS...

You can resurrect people I thought?
We've played with level gaps, although not that extreme. It's not bad.
Besides, when my characters die when I'm playing DnD, I get them resurrected. That's the great part about fantasy, it's not real life.

| No it will not. Find good (hell you don't even have to be good anymore) hardcore players and they will not die.

Oh, sorry. I'll stop sucking then. I mean, hell mode is easy for the pros, right?

I think in soft core, you can rejoin the game sans some experience points and your items. Anyone know for sure, feel free to correct me.
I think in Diablo I, there were items called Ressurection scrolls in Multi-player, so you could resurrect another player. (not too sure, didn't play much D1).
The rules are negotiable. As long as we can find a good group to game with with good teamwork, that will make it fun, at least for me.

Yeah when you die, you're dead in HC.
Come on Jason... Chances of finding a kind high level, good HC character are slim to none.
Most of the time, most people will try to kill you as soon as possible. |

you mean gohan? "hey let me hit you with my fury while you are afk."
well i just remade my zon on hc. it'll be awhile before i get up to even nightmare mode beacuse i dont have the addiction anymore. well for now at least.
that also kind of looks like the idea i posted on clanimo awhile back. but i think i was talking about sc. where we just get a group of people we all know and play thru the game without mueling or trading outside the group. no one wanted to, or i uninstalled and stoped caring about D2 at that point.
