Is this an error exhibited by the monitor, or by the game itself?

If it is out of the monitor, then it may be that the game is running at too high a resolution for the monitor to take (eg 15" at 1280x1024)

What graphics specs are in the game setup?

IF you have another video card lying around, try to pop that in and see if there's any problems. Also, does the problem come up for any other games or applications? or is it jut ghost recon?

I had your sync out of range problem....My problem was that I had set my graphics driver directx override refresh rate at 100 hz, but I tried to play a game at 1600 by 1200 with that on when my monitor only supports 75hz at that resolution. All I did was change it to 75hz or you could disable that option all together. Hope this helps.

Oh I forgot to mention that since you have a nvidia graphics card...go to your display properties...then hit the settings tab...then hit the advanced button....and look for the tab with refresh settings (forgot what it's called...I bought a Radeon so I can't check to see what it is) to see if your refresh is being over written.

Guys, I had the same sync.out problem triyng to play ghost, then I realised it was a direct3d problem, I executed dxdiag and tryed the direct3d test and i got the sync.out msg when it was triyng full screen. Anyway I found the problem in a very diferent thing i thought I would find......, I remembered, I watched a divx the night before the problem started to come out and I remembered that in the Gforce fx5200 options (or whatever gforce u have), (go to display properties, advanced, gforce fx5200 tab) in the properties of the second monitor( tv conected to tv out) i had the display size option, all to the right (youll see a movie sign), and that was the problem believe it or not!!!!!!! I moved it to the left until the movie sign was gone and then I played ghost and I did all the test ok!!!!!!
I hope you guys understand, and hope this fixes your problem
