NetBEUI and Win XP

NetBEUI is no longer installed on your hard drive by default. Copy the following files from your XP CP on to your hard drive.

1) copy nbf.sys into the %systemroot%\system32\drivers\ directory

2) copy netnbf.inf into the %systemroot%\inf\ directory

I had to problems with the first file (C: > Windows > system32 > drivers), but the only place I see an inf file is in C>Window>Last Good>inf, so I copied it there, but it won't let me install NetBEUI to the protocols in Network Connections (in Control Panel).

Am I missing something?

The inf folder is hidden so you may need to turn on the "view hidden files and folders" option (I forget the exact name). Just for the record you can also use these files to add NetBEUI support back into Windows Server 2003 (I needed it for our workstation build routine).
