Opera rules!

I was just reading a news article about "lack of innovation" in browsers and realized how freakin' cool Opera Soft. is.

Features they invented (that I constantly use):
Mouse gestures
Fast forward and rewind feature
Tabbed browsing
Lightning speed (ok, they didn't invent lightning speed, but they're still the only browser with it, IMO.
Quick image disabling
Quick preferences (where one hotkey brings up settings for plugins, multimedia, popups, and browser ID)
Built in download management

Not to mention speed and the fact it's actually smaller than Netscape was, even years ago.

Netscape 3.0 for win95 circa 8 years ago
3.6 MB
http://www.twd.net/netscape/

Opera 7.11 for Linux (dynamic QT)
3.5 MB

Opera 7.11 for Windows
3.1 MB

A piece of modern software that's actually smaller (and I would hazard, faster) than its predecessors, all the while it's got a modern email client and such all built right in. What a concept.

Even tho I think Opera is nice, I must stay with the good old IE.
Has not failed me yet, and I think I am too lazy to switch over to Opera.
Also it seems too complex for me, i like my system running simple things, that once installed and configured can run by themselves or with minimal involvement from me, unless I am using them to do something.
I am weird I know

the help files and tutorials are good enuf IMO

its not too hard to get the best out of opera

a truly wonderful browser indeed, the new M2 email client also makes life a lot easier. dont have to use a separate email client. dont have to worry too much about heaps of security holes

i carry a CD with opera in it wherever i go. cant tolerate the mouse gestures not working when i'm using something else!

Opera is a nice browser but it offers little functionality beyond phoenix, except for some funky (read broken) rendering.

Just IMO

I registered Opera, I like it so much.
I dislike mouse gestures, I dislike wand, but even with those features shutdown, I'd rather pay for Opera than try to use IE (when I'm running W98SE) or Mozilla 1.3 or Konqueror when I run Slackware. If I ran W98 all the time, I'd probably need to purchase a popup killer for IE, so for the money I'd pay for a popup killer, I'd rather support innovative browsers like Opera, instead of supporting the Microsoft 'status guo' paradigm (IE).

another thing about opera is the 'fastest browser' fact is very noticeable if one is using a dialup connection

i was on 28K when i first got hold of opera...
never looked back since
