XP error: page fault in nonpaged area

I have been getting this same error frequently ever since installation of Windows XP Pro.

Error Message: STOP 0x00000050 (0xffffffe0, 0x00000001, 0xf30da010, 0x00000000) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I go to event viewer and click the help and support link for microsoft and it ends up here;

http://support.microsoft.com/default...s;817197&sd=ee

This is listed as the cause:

This problem occurs because the driver for the USB Universal Reader from Lexar Media, Inc is not compatible with Windows XP.

I don't have a USB Universal Reader of any kind.

I do have a Kodak DX3500 camera with usb easy share dock, but it is not powered up when this error occurs.

I did a search of my hard drive for anything with the word Lexar and only find a few .inf files where it is listed show up.

I have had some other error messages a few times, but i seem to have stopped them by removing the incd program that came with my burner.

Any suggestions appreciated.

system:
Soltek SL-75MRN, AMD XP2500+, 2-512MB Kingston Memory, Kenwood 72X CD-rom, Samsung 52x24x52-16xDVD Combo

You didn't list what chipset onboard video uses. is it nVidia?

nVidia drivers are one of the most common causes of this error message in winXP, IMO. What driver version are you using?

Also could be drivers for the TV card. Check for updated drivers for it as well.

Cheers

Thanks for the response.

mickwish;
It is nvidia chipset.
I downloaded the newest nvidia drivers right before XP
wouldn't connect again.

dauss;
I have formated and reinstalled for the 5th time and have
only the nvidia drivers installed at the moment.
I'll post back in a day or so after I see what it will do this time.

Thanks,
jw

Back up and running with Win 2000.

In a matter of minutes, XP was fubar'ed again.
It doesn't like any of the nvidia drivers. Had to use
the drivers on the mainboard cd for 2000.
It doesn't like the new ones either.

So...until nvidia comes up with chipset drivers to work
with XP, 2000 will have to do.

I'm afraid the phone operators at microsoft
xp activation will miss me.
