Win2K SP4 issues....

Service Pack 4 has been released and I was wondering if any of you win2k users out there experienced any kind of driver failures after upgrading to SP4? Listen to the warning and make sure you Archive Files before upgrading to SP4. I'm looking for things such as your network card driver stopped working or sound card driver stopped responding etc...?

I reinstalled Win2k on two machines this weekend. Put sp4 on both without archiving. All is fine and dandy.

SP4 has been very smooth on every system I have installed it on including 7 production servers.

Do they still have that clause in the licence about MS entering your computer and inspecting the files and documents? That's why I never upgraded our server to sp3, and eventually migrated to Linux.

Nukes, could you help me find the part in the EULA for sp3 that says that? I remember reading it recently but not finding it. Same with sp4.

FWIW, sp4 has been smooth sailing on my system.

I noticed a driver failure with my Logitech cordless mouse. Haven't went to Logitech to try and find an updated driver, but, I am sure it is related. Right after I installed SP4 my mouse would just hang. Afterwards, I would get a bug check error (0x0000000A) and it would do a memory dump. If I remove the mouse, it doesn't happen. It has done it three times and each time it was right afer a mouse failure.

Other than that, no problems. And, I think that one will be easy to fix when I feel like messing with it.

The mouse issue can be fixed by not using the Logitech drivers. Plain ol' MS Windows mouse driver will do the trick.
