Half-Life and WinXP Problems....

Everytime i load up Counter-Strike, soon as im about to connect to the server i get a Error.
heres what it says...
Microsoft Visual C++ Libary Runtime Error

Runtime Error!

Program D:/HALFLIFE/hl.exe

Adnormal Prgram Termination

My system specs are:
800mhz amd athlon
160mb ram
Some Gateway MoBo
60gb and a 20gb western digital hds
Soundblaster Live! 5.1
TNT2 32mb

I just installed XP Pro, and i downloaded the newest drivers, and downloaded all the winXP update patches.

wow, that's an interesting error.

do you have visual studio installed? if so maybe the debugging system is having fun with the instability that is half-life

my main recommendation would be to just re-install half-life (yu can backup your save games by just copying the save folder). also i would recommend installing new network drivers...maybe that has something to do with it

I think it sounds like something in memory, if not drivers it's a rogue program. Have you tried different drivers?

Which TNT2 drivers are you using for your video card? When I first installed the newest detonators, they were a little buggy for me too. Maybe try reverting to an older driver . . .?

TNT2 is a bit old and it has 32mb, but i don't think that's the problem.......u can consider at least getting a Geforce4 MX 440 64mb DDR.
