Sims Hot Date cd problem

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me, When I try to install The Sims Hot Date I get the following error:

Component Transfer Error
Component: Expansion Pack 2
File Group:Expansion Pack 2
File: f:\setup\data2.cab
Error: The request could not be performed because of an I/o device error

I'm running Windows xp and have The original sims, livin it up and house party intalled. I have used the same hot date disk before and it worked fine.

Anyone know what to do?

Thanks

Is the disk scratched?
You may have to uninstall, defrag, then reinstall.

Send a message via ICQ to Gouki
I've had similar problems happen to me...and usually there's a smudge on the disc and it just needed to be cleaned.

Glad you got it working...and Welcome to TechIMO!
