Outdoors boot up problems

I am trying to build my first PC, but I am having problems with the first boot up. I am using a Asus P4PE Mobo, 512 pc2700 ddr ram (had 2, but took one out to makesure it wasn't the RAM) MSI Ti-4200 8x agp, soundblaster live sound card, lite-on dvd player, and Western Digital HD. I have also checked the cords and they are connected. When I turn on my monitor then my PC my moniter doesn't acknowledge that the pc is there. Are there any suggeestions as to what can be the prob?

I do not get any beeps ( could be because I might not have case speaker hooked up right) and the pc does power up. I have checked the cpu, and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with iy.

I would start from the basics Disconnect your HD CDROM Remove sound card and just leave your ram CPU and Video in. And Start from there Or what else you can do is place the Mobo on an Antistatic Surface and see if works from there instead of it being in the case. See You Still tell us what type CPU it is and what Power supply you have and you didnt tell us whether you have checked that 12v connector on the mobo is connected on the power suppply in addition to atx connector

You can check the clear cmos jumper too and check the battery with your tongue.

The battery is a bit spicy if it works. There is no danger because it is just 3 volt

PS: The clear cmos jumper is the jumper nearest the battery

Oops, I did forget to tell you what power supply and cpu. Power supply is 350W that came with the case (Premeir case) and cpu is 2.4G P4. I have tried reseating the vid card already, but will try taking Sound card, HD, CD out and trying from there.

ok, took the mobo out of case and tried it from ontop of the anti static bag, but got the same results. with the vid card, one stick of ram, and cpu the mobo would power up, but the monitor would stay in power saver mode.

Okay this is may be a problem or not but Im not sure maybe someone else can help I checked your mobo specs but it doesnt say whether you agp is 1.5v or 2.0v because your Video card is 2.0 and maybe your is 1.5v. Maybe can that be a problem? Can someone else check this out

my mobo supports 1.5v only, so before i bought my vid card i made sure it was 1.5v. Motherboards.com says it is 1.5v, so i got it.
