Need help choosing a dig vid camera

For those of you who don't know, I'm in the military and currently deployed to Iraq. We just heard that we won't be home anytime soon, so I want my wife to get a digital video camera so she can send me CD's of what's going on at home.

I don't know the first thing about what to get in a digital video camera. Any suggestions?

My system:

AMD XP1700+
32MB PCI video card (hope to replace with a ti4200 128mb)
MSI KT2 Ultra mb
6G + 4G hard drive (hope to replace with a 40G/8mb cache)

I personally like Olympus and Cannon...

I currently own a Olympus C3030 and love it.

Cannons are also really good.
