System kicks me out while playing games...

This is a re-occuring problem now for about 2 months now since I upgraded to a ASUS A7N8X, AMD 2500+ Barton with 1 GIG DDR333 2700 Micron.Additional system specs include a MSI TI 4400 128mb, d-link 512+ wireless NIC, and a Soundblaster 5.1

System sometimes also reboots by itself on startup during the windows XP splash screen, but more ofen than anything it will reboot during games (Battlefield 1942, GTA Vice city). Ive tried swapping RAM, running single channel, flashing the bios...even changing the damn IDE cables and this problem is still present.

Anyone got any ideas I should look into? Im going insane here.

Thanks

Those generic supplies doesn't usually list the correct output they do. Gotta have teh 12vand5v loads and they can't be full output. I would change the PSU to an Antec or something of better quality.

Same thoughts here, if you got throught the install of xp and everything okay, that pretty much rules out the RAM being a problem, the drives and especially the video card draw quite a bit of power, which would explain the kick-out when playing GPU intensive games.

look on the side of the supply it should show 3.3V 5v and 12v with numbers under them . if the 12v is under 15a i bet thats the problem .

antec is good but they can be costly . i would recomend this achieve 500w for 23$ shipped . if you read threads here u will see i like these alot . aliied is also a good supply that don't break the bank if you are worried that it is no good because the achieve seems so cheap . but i will tell ya one thing the achieve powwer supply is the ONLY supply i buy now .
