Raid question on an ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE mobo

I'm planning to buy an ASUS P4C800-E DELUXE and use two 36.7gb raptor western digital hard drives on Raid O. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience in this using this mobo or any mobo with onboard raid. My question is if this is tricky to set up? I have no experience in Raid and SATA. How long would it take me to set up this Raid config?

Any input is welcome.

I have set up onboard RAID before and it is pretty easy to set up. Be sure to set up the arrays before formatting the drives or installing anything, as you will have to start over. Make sure you have the RAID controller driver for your OS available, as you will probably need it during the installation.

When installing XP do I just connect the hard drives to the controller and turn on the comp and put the XP cd in and press i believe F6 to install Raid drivers?

Yes, that's it. But first, when it is booting, it will give you the option to set up an array. You need to do this before installing, or the system will not see the drives as RAID.

Last question what will the options be? Will it be for the type of Raid?

I believe it is. The magazine CPU got a little over 20000 with this board using a 3.0ghz pentium 4 with 5900 256mb vid card in 3dmark2001se.

no cause all you do is disable onboard sound. Its 200 at www.gameve.com and there is a non deluxe version (P4C800) and a non E version (P4C800 Deluxe). They are both cheaper.
