Keep getting this error

Hello,

Whenever I'm in a game, such as quake 3, as of late, every couple days all of a sudden a blue screen pops up with white lettering. It says that windows has encountered and error and has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. It says something about a netmotcm.sys or something.. and then at the bottom it says Beginning physical memory dump.. and then its complete.. etc.. my question: how to prevent this.. and actually, what is this? what's causing it? Has anyone encountered this before?

P.S. The computer tells me to check to see if i have adequate disk space or to see if anything needs drivers updates.. or if my bios do, how?

Have you updated your video card and chipset drivers lately ???? Makes all the difference.

it would help us to figure out the problem if u could give us ur system specs. anyway, im not sure what is the cause of that blue screen but if nothing else works, i would just back up all of the important data i need, and do a clean install of windows. btw, what windows are u running?

nevermind, problem solved.. it was a setting in the game.. com_hunkmegs.. it determines how much memory you use I believe.. and i had it set to high, anyway problem solved now it seems, thanks
