hibernating XP

My XP went into hibernation and it must think it's winter because it doesn't want to wake up. Help anyone.

Just out of curiosity, since I have this problem to...Try going to your Network Connections (Control Panel -> Network Connections) and disabling any Local Area Connection (right click, Disable...you can fix it by right clicking again and chosing enable)...then try to hibernate

When i hibernate it just restarts the comp but with longer time.

Hibernating turns the computer off. There is no "wake up". When you power it back on with the power switch, it goes back to what you left it with, but it's a full power-on.

Are you sure you didn't mean standby ?

What he's meaning is it locks up...it never actually shuts down...my laptop does the same thing and the network connection is the problem...when it's disabled it powers down just fine.

Thanks for your kind replies. I had to disconnect the power cord and reinstall it and it now works fine. Again, thanks to all of you.
