HDD Copying

I really could do with some help here. I have 2 HDDs, one is too small and I have XP Professional on it. I want to transfer the whole HDD contents on to my large 80GB one. This includes the Operating system. One thing that might be a problem is that the HDD with my operating system on at the momment is FAT and the one I want to transfer it onto is NTFS. I hope someone can help!

Thanks,
Matt M

you should be able to use the hdd tools that are from the manufacture and format and partion the new drive then copy the contents from the old one onto the new one

So the 80 gig drive already has an OS on it and you want to preserve that? If you just want your config just like it is on a new drive you can use Ghost or something similar to do this.

No the 80 has nothing on it. The 80 gig was from seagate and the small one from Maxtor.

If you can come accross a copy of Norton Ghost you can use the drive cloning feature

I had to ghost my moms when she got a 120 gig because she was so entrenched that there was no way to do it without losing something.
