Systems 3DMark 2001 SE Question

I installed a Geforce 2 GTS/Pro 32MB video card and ran this benchmark for the first time. My score was 3884. I did the compare thing and saw that my score (compared to others with the same specs) was on the next to the last page. Compared to others, my score sucks! Now, I am my panties are not riding too high over it; I am not much of a gamer. However, I am interested in why there is that much of a difference. I mean, how can someone, that is not overclocking, score 3000 points higher with the same cpu, gpu, ect? The only major difference I saw was that some of the cards were 64mb instead of my 32mb. So, what's up?

Here are my main specs:

AMD XP 2100
K7T 266 Pro (MS 6380, latest AMI Bios)
768 MB DDR PC2100
2x 40G HDD on a Adaptec 1200A RAID Card (0)
Win 2000 Pro SP4

I am also using the latest Detonator drivers available.

Well, 3DMark isn't all about the video card. The faster your processor and ram are the better score you get. So many of those are overclocked to get the higher scores. The video card can be overclocked as well to get higher scores. Also, if you get the latest DET driver from nvidia.com, that will boost your scores over what you get with the default driver that came with the card. (oops, just read your last sentence...)

don't use latest video drivers on that old geforce, use older ones! new drivers are optimized for ge4 and fx cards.

They have the exact same definitions for the older cards...those never change because they're never updated once they lose support.
