http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...alue=4159,4575

AMD ATHLON XP 2500+ (CPU: 1.83 GHz) "Barton" 333 FSB PROCESSOR CPU- RETAIL is only $90 with free shipping on newegg

or you could go with

AMD ATHLON XP 2400 (CPU: 2.0 Ghz) /266 FSB PROCESSOR CPU - RETAIL for only $84.50 with free shipping from newegg. This is the processor that I am running and extremely happy with it.

All depends on what FSB that you want to run on your mobo.

Get one that uses the 333fsb. That means a XP2500+ at least.

I got my computer as a package mobo/cpu deal with the AMD2400. My board supports 333 FSB, so I am eventually going to upgrage to a 2500+ or higher AMD cpu.

ditto on what tony_j15 said

Yes the Barton core will work good on your board.

Here is a review of your board with the 2500 cpu

Here is another site that is helpful with motherboards.

Yes that's the one you want

Barton is just a core type for the AthlonXP...there are several core types...the first was the Palomino, then Thoroughbred, then the Thoroughbred B, then the Barton...there are only slight differences between them all, but the Barton is the latest and best.
