How Do I Make A VCD??

Howdy,

I have a couple of videos that i would like to put on a cd-r and give to my uncle so that he can watch them on his dvd player. I have nero. I could probably figure this out on my own but I would more then likely make a bunch of coasters and i only have about 5 cd-r's left. One of the videos is 772mb and in mpeg format. The other is 700mb and in avi format. Also whats the difference between mpg and mpeg formats, are they the same? Now this is the part im confused on. What do i do now? Is there some software that does all the converting and burning automaticly? I dont mind paying for it. If not what is some good software to convert the avi to mpeg and make that other mpeg file smaller? Once the file is in the right format do i just burn it on the cdr with nero?

Thanks!!
Sam

get tmpgenc, it does it for free to vcd format, free for 30 days for converting to svcd, I then burn w/ vcdeasy-- www.vcdeasy.org I prefer it over nero, but both work fine, try www.dvdrhelp.com, it'll tell you all you ever need to know. G/L!

Darn you GZ3! You beat me to the punch!
