Onboard nic and Drake 9.1

I have an Albatron KX400-8XV with onboard 3Com 3C910 and can't get it to work in linux. Drake has the drivers for it and when I go to add it through the control panel it seems to work fine. However, it will not recognize the nic after it finishes setting it up and then leaves me back where I started. This is a discussion on Red Hat forums about this board's onboard nic, but it doesn't seem like the problem was ever resolved.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I'm giving up my 1337ness for this, so it better work )

If I remember right, drake has some sort of device manager/listing inside drakconf. See if the nic is registered in there and make a note of the driver.
Also do /sbin/lsmod to see if the module is loaded (need to be root in console)
What exactly does it say when you do the add new hardware thing? Does it detect the device or do you have to select it from a list?

Sorry I have been away for a while guys, I'm at Syracuse University for the summer and I had to get an internet account set up.

pbharris- The nic is enabled in the bios, because it works in windows.

nukes- The next time I boot into linux I will check out drakconf and /sbin/lsmod. When I do the add hardware thing, it makes me pick which nic it is, but it then says that it was found. When I finish "setup" for it, it takes me back to the begining of the wizard and makes me go through it again. It's really confusing me.

Thanks for the help guys!

Well, obviously I meant when you boot into it.
BTW, if you've got work to do, what're you doing here?
