Hi all,

I think this has been asked before, but I can't find it.

How can you transfer a record (LP) onto a CD-ROM? What connections, cards, etc. would you need to have?

Thanks,
ng

What's with that page trying to auto-make a favorite...

All you need is to get a Y-Adapter from Radio Shack. http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...0F1AA81891341D

or this one:

Dang, that's a big freagin' link. But plug that into your Line-In and jump it to your Phono's Output or to your Receiver's tape-out if you don't want to disconnect the phono. From there you can use any number of recording programs to make a direct recording, including WAV Recorder included with Windows. With a simple program as such, no clean-up will occur. But you can manually record each track, and then when you're done you'll have a pile of wav's that any burning program can burn straight to audio CD or data CD for backup. From there you could use a program to convert to MP3 if you so desire. Also, if your Phono has mono out only, use this jack:

I think that last one is the one I used before...not a good picture, though...

If you don't like Windows WAV Recorder, try places like Download.Com (i.e. http://download.com.com/3120-20-0.ht...=&swlink=false), or somewhere more audio orientated like http://www.audio-ware.com/ or http://ukdownloads.net/audio/index.html.
