Dream come true or nightmare? (cheap 3.0 ghz laptop)

Okay, we all love speed, and I am not talking about the drug either, but sometimes you gotta question the seller. I was looking through the internet looking for a site that sells reletivly cheap laptops that have some 'UMPH' behind them, sort of an oxy-moron. Well I came across http://www.portablez.com

Heres the thing, they are selling...

Is this possible? I even had a chat with their online customer service people, but it doesn't seem real somehow, it doesn't add up. They are even on resellerratings.com but there is only a couple of reviews....they are new I am guessing.

They said that in october they are upgrading the g732 package, (the one I am concerned about $$$ wise) to the new eight hundreded MHZ frontside bus speed and they are making the Video Card a 128 MB Radeon Mobility 9600....does this seem real? Or just a scam? I need some thoughts and opinions because I am fighting with my self to or tonot take a chance...

Well there isnt a 3.06ghz P4 with the 800mhz FSB it goes 3.00ghz then 3.2ghz. Not based on that but other lappy prices I would say scam.

That's a hard to beat price, $1500 is low but still enough to matter spending that on something and possibly getting ripped, it looks real, but who can really tell?

Um be carefull I was snooping around the site and came across his server logs and database all easy to get to and downloadable. He has no security fo those at all. Also the photoshop sorce files for the images and every thing. Right out in the open for any one to see.

Doubt that its a scam, but migth be.
There are alot of unknow resellers and companies who make laptops and sell them alot cheaper than the prices of the more known ones. Be warned tho, the do cut costs, like cheap plastic as the case, no battery life to speak off, etc.
This thing will mostlikely weight like a bundle of bricks and will be able to fry an egg.

Same site. Kinda odd. Its stored seperately on his HDD in C:/MP_site_final/ and portablez.com in C:\PORTABLeZ and he has a third just like the other two. Kinda fishy if you ask me.

But then again he has been around since the PIII days.
