So... wish me good luck on me Mum's new machine

Well, it's my birthday... so I upgraded my Mum's pooter. I picked up one o' those ECS K7S5A's and popped my old 2100 in it. Used CPUcool to shock it into 2160 actual mhz's at only 1.6v. It's runnin beastly, rippin through Sandra's Burnin Test.

I haven't really put it through the paces yet, and kinda doubt that it'll hold up at 1.6v. My fingers are crossed. Basically it's just a perpetual family photo album, rolling through Webshots screensaver.

I thought that I had hard set the cpu to 1.85v by connecting the middle L11 bridge. But, it didn't work. I either missed something or didn't get a good paint job done on it. ???

...There's no way that's running at that speed at 1.6v...the default is 1.75v ... you wouldn't be able to overclock much at all at 1.6v ... and most boards only let you go down to 1.65v...it could reach that speed only at 1.85v

Way! 1.63v. in both Sandra and CPUcool.

Runs there but, Prime95 craps out immediately. Not stable at all. I gotta figure out how to hard mod the core v. to 1.85v.

It's a 2100 Tbred B. What is the stock core v on it? Maybe I dropped instead of raising it?

Why not leave it at 2100? I don't think overclocking are going to make any difference with your mum.

if she ain't gaming then whats it matter if prime crashes . only grames will pull on it like prime does . if it runs everything else it should be stable .
