need help to disable firewall on router

Ok, I am new to this so please bear with me. I got a router from Ebay that didn't come with any type of instructions. It works fine with the PC, but the Playstation2 won't work with it. The PS2 works directly through the DSL modem fine, but not the router. Sony said something about disabling the firewall on the port that the PS2 is connected to, but could not or would not assist in doing so, not their job.

I would appreciate any help you can give me in getting this set up.

What ports does Playstation use? You just need to forward the ports on your router. Usually you can get the manual or at least enough info from the manufacturers website.

Set the Playstation as the DMZ host. I'm not sure if it will work but it should. I'll post again when I figure out how.

The way to figure out the IP of the router is to type "ipconfig /all" in the DOS prompt. The gateway IP is the IP of the router. Put that IP in Internet Explorer and when it asks for a password, try entering something like admin/admin or any other common user/password combination.
