Is the GeForce FX5600 Ultra a good card?

I'm thinking of getting a new Nvidia card, is the FX5600 Ultra good? and what better ones are there on the Nvidia side? (Nothing over $300)

if you don't have to get a new card now wait . the fx5900 is just hitting the market now . and i like nvidia but for 300$ you can maybe get a ati 9800 for that and it is a much better card than the fx5600. you can get a ati 9700 pro for under 300$ and that to is a better card than the fx5600 . but if you can wait a bit and want nvidia i would wait on teh fx5900 to come down in price alittle and go that way .

Well, you can get an FX5800 (non-Ultra) for around $275.

Dont touch the FX5800, its crippled. For under 300, the Radeon 9700 is running 200-250, great card. Head to head, the FX 5600 is outperformed by the Radeon 9600. The radeons also have better visual quality.

He did, but I wouldnt want him to buy something thats not the best for his money.

Piccalo, if you really want an nvidia card, get a 5600. Gotta tell ya they dont compare with the radeons right now.
