Best case for modding?

I'm in the R&D stage of my case mod, as soon as I sell my Dell and downgrade to a more basic computer, I've got a couple ideas I want to try. What's the VERY BEST case for modding? It doesn't matter the color b/c I'll end up painting it, and I's like to add my own windows, so it basically just needs to be a box.
So I guess what I'm asking is,
Is one brand better than another?
What material is most conducive (sp) to cutting, aluminum, stell, etc...
Also, how do you attatch windows? The shapes I'm cutting out are somewhat complex, so do I just rivet the plexi or whatever on behind it?
Bear in mind, I've done only one simple mod, but I'm going BIG this time, so any pointers are appreciated!
Thaks!

Why not rockpile, which one would you pick? A less flashy front might be a good idea so I can mod it too

Well, I'd say go for aluminum if you can find one in your price range/fits you requirements for your mods. Aluminum is easier to work with ( cut through ), but less forgiving to accidents ( dents ).

I'd say get whatever case you like, and buy your power supply seperately if the case isn't a well known brand ( Antec, etc )

I haven't totally decided, but my next case is either Aluminum, or full out Plexi/Acrylic.

Those full acrylic are cool, but too much $$$ for me! I'm wanting to do a racing or college sports team theme, so any ideas there would be cool too. You just might be able to guess the college team, and as far as racing, I'm goin' nascar...

plus they have several other options for around $30 shipped...easy to cut and work with thin steel.
