Kids Bluetooth Issues (Anycom 220)

just picked up a Anycom USB Bluetooth adapter and the Socket Bluetooth GPS unit for my Libretto. I thought things were going fine....

I install the software for the Bluetooth adapter and proceed with configuring the services. I then activate the discovery mode and pair the adapter to the GPS unit. When I do this all in one session, without logging out of XP, everything works fine. As soon as I shutdown and restart, the Bluetooth adapter craps out. When I plug it into my USB port, the icon changes to indicate the adapter is connected. Next, I try to connect the serial connection for the GPS (with the GPS turned on of course), and it fails to connect. It usually doeso one of two things...the service icon will disappear and nothing happens, or I'll get an error message saying the service couldn't be initialized.

I thought it might be the USB port, but my Sony microdrive works fine in both ports. I uninstalled the software/drivers and then reinstalled and it worked fine until I logged out. Has anyone had any experiences with the Anycom adapter?

***EDIT***
Well, over the weekend I figured out that I have no clue when it comes to Bluetooth. That and manufacturers could provide better documentation. What I was able to figure out is that once the Socket GPS is paired with the adaptor, there is no need to start the GPS from My Bluetooth Places on the desktop. Once paired, you can activate the device straight from the application...Delorme Street Atlas in my case.

As a side note, I would recommend the Socket Bluetooth GPS unit to any users of laptops/GPS/navigation software. It is a completely self contained unit that offers approx 5 hours of run time on a single charge. Having Bluetooth makes it much more 'car friendly' without having to deal with cables. Also in my quest for answers, I found that the Socket Bluetooth GPS unit is the exact same unit that is manufactured by EMTAC. EMTACs website states that the unit can support WAAS which provides greater GPS accuracy through error correction with base satellites. Also on EMTACs sight is a beta (although, it works just fine) version of CruxView which is used to set the internal options of the unit and can be used to activate WAAS...still trying to figure out the correct settings though ;-(. Happy navigating!!
