response time

I'm buying a new LCD monitor, so I should look for monitors with a 25ms response time or less, right? I'm going to be playing a lot of games, and I heard 25ms was the cut-off.

thanks!

I`ve researched a lot about this topic and finally purchased a Viewsonic VP171B (you can read my review in the review section).

Before buying this monitor I`ve looked at a large number of them, ranging from 50ms to 16ms.

At 25 ms you are near a point where games runs fine till you get to display a lot of Greys and Blacks. A game like devastation, for example is unplayable on a Samsung 191T or a Dell 1800FP. It will drive you crazy from the ghosting it has.

Quake 3 has a minimal amount of Ghosting in a 191T but non in a 1800FP (rebadged LG).

So my advice is, if you play a lot of games, FPS and such go for a 16ms (17"), since I couldn`t bare 25ms due to its ghosting, even minimal as it was.

If size matter the most, the you`re stuck with 19" - 25Ms response time and the best aroundis the Samsung 191T. IT HAS ghosting...and striking.

From this point on...your decision.

Thanks Omardeth .

The 192T will be out very soon and still will have 25ms of response time. Plus it will cost about 890$, which if you tell me its really pricy for a 19" LCD.

Hey guys, I ended up getting this :

With the specs and good reviews, it's a steal at that price if you ask me
