GIF help needed!
Hey guys!
I'm getting a little frustrated here trying to create this simple little GIF...basically what I'm doing is making the text appear exactly as it does, then trying to make the heart spin smoothly.
All is well when I view it in ImageReady (I triple checked each frame to make sure no extra layers were selected), but when I save it as a .gif and view it with either IE or Win XP Pic Viewer, it looks all crazy and distorted.
Here it is, see what I mean?
Any idea what's going on?
Thanks!
Mike

It looks like it might be a small Photoshop file...is it? If it's not too large post it so I can see in IR as well.
One thing it might be is how the animation is disposing of the previous frame.
You can try changing how it disposes of the previous frame by right-clicking on the frames in the animation palette. To do them all at once first highlight all the frames then right-click. See attached image.
As far as which dispose method to use, I don't know. Just trial and error.

Hmm...the aggrevation sets in!
I opened the file again in IR to check the disposal method (great idea BTW!) and now I can actually see how the layers are all messed up!!!
WTF?!
When I was creating the .gif, it was smooth as can be and each layer was separate from the others...somehow they combined and I can't do anything about it except start over.
GRRR!!!
Ok I'm better now, thanks for listening.

Well, if I only knew something about Photoshop or Image Ready then I'd fix it for him, but . . .drat! You sure you can't get your computer working Pyro? You may be his only hope. (was that sarcasm a little too thick? ) |
