Wireless and PDA's

I need to setup a userwith a PDA and Wireless connection. The user (VP of Sales) basically needs to check email while he is on the road (Canada Only) and to be able to open attachments like Word docs or spreadsheets. I already have my eye on the devices but I was wondering what king of service providers offer wireless services and what are the security issues? (I'm a wireless newb)
