USB Jump Drives, Usefull?

I noticed that OM has the 64MB USB "Jump Drive" on sale for $19.99 AMIR.
I was thinking of picking up one just for keeping downloaded drivers on for installs. Thought it would be nice as I could delete the info when the install was done. Would also be nice not to have all these CD-R's laying around with drivers that are used once or twice.
Are these USB drives anygood?

WB

Chances are, they're aren't any more instock...When I went to OM on MONDAY, all the item tickets were gone....I had to ask someone to check in the back to see if there were any left, and I got the last one....and that was on MONDAY....

however, I did see another thread here where someone got the 128mb version for not much more...I mean like $36.....

do a search for it...

If thats a solid state drive, then I have one called a thumb drive, 256mb... This thing's the bomb, I have used it nearly every day or so for the last three months. I just carry it around on my keychain and when I need it, just plug it in and watch the OS assign a drive letter...pretty cool.

Make sure you get a driverless one. The one I have needs a driver and I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would.

Thanks all for the input.
As far as driverless, I hadn't even thought of that as I figured they all were, otherwise what's the point?

Nighthawk, which make and model do you have?

Many of these USB jump drives, regardless of brand label, are from Samsung. The Lexar 128 is one; it gets used frequently in my house.

Win2K and XP have builtin support for these drives. Win98SE will use them if software is installed; Lexar has that software available for download.
