What is Fastwrites

While Playing around in my bios i found AGP fastwrites

Ive heard of the term

But what is it... What does it do?

Should it be disabled?

Well don't know whole lot on this either however from doing a search on google it appears to be a tweak that people can do at thier own risk.

Buzioid I'm sure its an OPTION for a reason. It depends if his video card supports fastwrites. We don't know his hardware so PLEASE do not say "Just do it" with things you don't entirely understand (especially something in the BIOS) or know all the facts about.

I have the Gforce MX440 SE 64mb DDR AGP 4x... Supposivley it supports fastwrites... but not to sure about it! Tell me more....

Just head to your video cards web site and see if it has any issues with fast writes. If there is nothing there about it then enable it, and only that so if you have problems then you can just reboot and change it back.

Should not be too big of deal. Just do not do any other changes for awhile to make sure that it worls.

Fast writes allow the process to send certain graphics calls directly to the video card, thus bypassing the system memory and reducing system bandwidth usage. Several popular cards, especially from nVidia, support this option. Recommended setting is enabled if supported, assuming no video related stability problems exist.

Would it cause any damage with stressing the card or heating (over working it)

It wont stress the card or anything, enable it!
