Win XP installing printer problem

Probably something really simple I am missing here, but have spent a lot of time trying to get this to work.

New PC like 2.4ghz, and am trying to get this printer USB HP 900 all in one to install. It auto installs to a Dat01_001 port (not sure if that is exact but something really close to that). Anyways as a list of ports the USB is not listed, and it is listed in the device manager. So it auto installs and acts like it should work fine, but it does not print. Like I said probably something really simple in which I am missing. Been a long day though.

Did the all in one come with a driver disk?
Did you try to install that?
(I thought the same thing...plug and play...didn't werk that way fer me?)

Yeah I tried the software itself, but that did the same thing. It seems like it is not detecting the USB port, but they are all there in the device manager. I have even tried unistalling and reinstalling those.
