X-Ray And Laptops?
Hey,

Im going to be going to the air port and am bringing my laptop with me. Do you think there is any risk of the X-ray machine erasing my hard drive or causing any other damage to my laptop?

I and many people do the same thing every day. It had no effect on my notebook. You should backup your data anyways, because you never know.

If X-rays had any deleterious effect on laptops, mine would be fried.

What they may ask you to do is turn it on for them---might wanna have it already running on standby so you dont have to wait for it to boot...

I read a story about this the other day. Said you had a better chance of getting your laptops stolen than you did getting your drive fried by xray.
