G5 not so fast?

Read the article here:
http://www.haxial.com/spls-soapbox/apple-powermac-G5/

While it, just like Apples benchmarks, should be taken with a grain of salt it makes for an interesting read and leaves a lot of room for speculation until someone other than Apple can get their hands on one of these to bench it.

I am too old to believe that benchmarks are everything, if thats the case, we'll all have the fastest CPU and hardware available everyday of our lives.

The apple also comes with other neato features like serial ata and what not, and lets not forget the case..............

Also due to the tight control apple has over its hardware, a graphic document you created at home/work on your mac, will look and output the same when its at the printers.

Man tell me what PC is better looking, cooler than the G5 right now. The G5 makes the Alienware and Voodoo systems look plain ancient.

But yes, I will have to agree, Apple's marketing department sometimes make me gag. FIRST system to have dual FSB for CPUs (eh hello AMD MP anyone?) First 64 bit CPU (Hello can you crawl out from under that rock where you have been for the last year, tho they did include a disclaimer in the first PERSONAL 64 bit Cpu)

But all in all, tho over-priced, I believe Apple systems are very well rounded all-inclusive performance computers, with features included in them that are not yet fully implemented in the Intel/AMD world.

And as for cheating, well I'd call it optimizing, everyone does it, it would be best for all of us if every hardware manufacturer optimizes their hardware for all our apps.
