PC Problem - GA 686 BX Motherboard.

Was wondering if I could ask ya some advice etc.

My mate's got an old PC, P350 I think it is, and he tried to flash the bios to make it support larger hdd than 10gig. Problem is...this

He turns PC on and it says Check system health.... bios battery low....it found a load of non-existent ports etc...and the mouse won't work.

Oh and it says that the voltage is at 2.0v..

Basically it's f***ed. I've tried flashing the bios back to the OLDEST version I cuold find. tried NEWER vesions. I've ensured CMOS is cleared too with the flash proggy...


Just not playing.

Any ideas what to do? I reckon the mobo needs replacing tbh.

It's not the battery though. It was fine till he did this, plus if you change the settings it remembers them.

The battery low is LYING to us!

Sounds a lot like you got a wrong BIOS in there, for a different board.

Yeh, was defo the right one though. Got it from gigabytes homepage, also checked manual , and looked ON the mobo itself.

Odd isnt it.
