Gaming need help with geforce4 ti4600

I just got a new Leadtek WinFast A250 Ultra: GeForce4 Ti4600 128 DDR MB.
everything is fine with the card until i try to play a 3d game ( Counter-Strike). In the game there are a bunch of black lines that show up in places and move around as i do, and the graphics in the far backgrounds is kinda jagged. I know the graphics should be better than this . I have installed and updated all the drivers for this and have put the card to all the right settings.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

If Direct x9.0 was installed with the new Video Card... And everything was working fine before... Thats the problem... Direct x9 does cause alot of problems with past games meant for 8.1 or below...

If this fits for you... I would reccomend removing the video card, installing the old one, run system restore to back when u did not have direct x9(the new card).... then reinstall the new card and the drivers without installing Direct x9 (if thats possible)

I dont know of any way to remove Direct X from your system.

Only do this if the Top applys to you...

Buddy of mine had same problem, this fixed it

Hmmm.

You could Google up some apps that claim to uninstall DirectX, but your best for that, if not a system restore is a reinstall.

Do the same problems happen in an OpenGL game too, or ir it just DirectX games..?

Have you tried swapping out your memory modules if you have more than one and testing each module in each slot?

This would at least track down a bad slot or a bad stick, which could be your problem.

See if you can find out what type of motherboard you have.
And what version of Detonator Drivers do you have.

Also try another game and see if the problem is the same.

If the problem only happens with Counter Strike then the game might need an Update.

Possibly you might need to adjust your card settings for Direct3d and OpenGL
