Moving an atx power supply

the guy from blingmethod.com moved his power supply to a place in his case that would not obstruct the view from his window. i currently have the same problem my case has "vertical-mount" psu and it covers up the top part of my MoBo..... i want to move the PSU underneath my drive bays how can i eztend the plug to wherethis will be possible?

that isnt what i meant. im talking about the plug for the wall. i want move the PSU to the front of the case but the problem is plugging it into the wall socket.

If you're going to do this, be sure to use a single extension cable that's long enough for the entire run. Daisy-chaining power connectors is not such a good idea, because there's data that travels to and from the mobo.
If the 16" cable at directron is not long enough, you might have to get one custom made.

OOPS! I didn't read your second post.
You can get an IEC socket at Radioshack and mount that on the back of your computer. Then, run some AC grounded power cable to the PSU where the old IEC socket was mounted.

Here is a nice little tutorial with pictures on installing an IEC socket in a DVD player. You would do the same thing, but run longer wires and solder them to the inside of your PSU. Remember to use a rubber gromet where the wires go into the PSU.
