I want to know as I said the differencess between those cpus.

Can one use mp on an XP MOBO?

I am a newbie so , I need some people to translate
I checked the web and found some stuff about AMD but it was not easy to understand them though

second part ;

what should be the price ratio of mp/xp (same ghz)..
when one should jump on a mp deal according to ratio?

MP and XP are essentially the same chip. But the MPs are different in the following ways

1) For dual motherboards that detect it, only MPs will run in Dual mode, if you use XP, the motherboard won't let you run duals

2) MPs are all unlocked at the factory, XPs are not 100%, some are, some are not.

MPs are more expensive, compared to XPs, if you just plan to use 1, its pointless to get an MP.

The difference is XP CPU's are for single processor systems and MP's are for multiple processor systems. If your motherboard only supports 1 CPU, there is no benefit to buying an XP. There are probably more differences but that is the big one

Also I'd like to add, older MPs versus XPs, the XPs have the better technology.

are all MP cpu s are throuhgbred or palomino or depents..
I know that xp depents on when they are produced.
and also do they differ in physical shape or one can use thorughbred or palomino in any amd motherboard (new)?

I bought asus a7n8x deluxe last week and looking for a cpu and I realized that I do not know anything about Amd except they are good and cheap

Oh with that board, you should really go with the AMD Barton core XPs. Those are definitely faster than the MPs for that amount of money, a comparable MP will cost a lot more.

If your on a budget, get a XP 2500+. They cost less than 100 now.
