what do you have in your pc now . the fx is an ok pic if you are on a budget . but you can get them for less than this one . how about some specs on your pc it would help out alot . are you a novice at building pc's or have you done it before ? if your not to keen on computers then this card , the 64 mb version on this page , would be better than the fx5200 by far . or this asus card here would be alos better still . it is 128 also . the only thing is it is refurbished . meaning you will only get the bare card and would have to get drivers on your own but thats not hard . just go to asus web page and you can getthem there .

good luck
hope this helps .

I just bought that card a couple of weeks ago, and I'm quite pleased with it. The drivers that it came with didn't work well at all, but NVIDIA's site posted new FX drivers a week later, and everything fell right into place. I bought mine at CompUSA for that same price, and got a $10 instant rebate too.

yes teh fx 5200 is a good budget card . but they are all about the same so getting a lower priced one is about as good also . plus don't be afraid to look at other vendors . you might beable to find the same model cheaper from another vendor if you really want to get this one .

I currently have a original VisonTek Geforce 3. But im in the process of upgrading my mobo, cpu, ram, gpu and os.

After the parts come in, id have x2 512 DDR-PC2700 RAM.
Either a 2500 "Barton" or 2600 "Thorughbred" (ive read that the 2500 is better in some ways.. not sure about that yet).
WinXP Home
And for the mobo, im torn between EPOX 8RDA+/8RDA3+ or ASUS A7N8X Delux/Reg.

hmmm...hard decision between the Asus and Epox. I do like the SoundStorm onboard sound of the Asus Deluxe...that's the deciding factor for me...although it's a bit more expensive.

Both motherboards are very stable...

As for the video card, I have a Visiontek GF3 Ti-500, and am very happy with it and an XP 2100+, 512mb PC-2700. I would save the $100 and wait until a month or so before Half-Life 2 or D00M 3 comes out. Then decide.

like emc2 said the card you have is a pretty good card . you might want to use it for now and wait . i don't think the fx5200 is a big upgrade from what you have already . if you plan on leaving it in the pc and building a new one . hmmmm i would say get the cheapest fxcard out there you can find for now . this way your not out alot of money and later you can upgrade it . they can be had for as low as 50$
