Will the 9600 Pro be able to handle Half-Life 2/Doom ]|[ at stock speeds? How about with some OC'ing?

Definately!! It will handle any DX9 game you throw at it. You cant go wrong with OC this baby. Its got ATI's new .13 core, you can squeeze 150mhz out of it!

i would go with the 9500 pro , if you can find one over the 9600 . they seem to perform better . but if you are talking about getting a new card to run the new hl and doom games to be released i would say wait for the games to come out before u buy . the prices of the cards will have fallen by then and you won't have to spend as much .
