Wtf Happened? (benchmark)

Look at the picture I attached. What happened? I upgraded and got a horrible score. Do you think it is the DirectX version, or the driver version? I think it is the driver version as I don't believe a NEW directX would cause THAT result with such an improvement in hardware.

Wierd...

Well, the problem is not that he got a better score by tweaking and o/c'ing, but that he got a worse score.

I'd say either the combo of that driver and DirectX 9, or it might just be that driver. Although, I do know that the best results are when the CPU and RAM, are running in sync, in other words, if your CPU is running at 180FSB and your RAM is running at 166, then the score will be lower than if you ran both your CPU and RAM at 166.

Weird but tested and proven...

First I will tune my RAm to better settings (CAS2 and stuff). Then, I will remove the 44.65 drivers and install the 40.72's. If my score STILL isn't much higher, as it should be, I will DOWNCLOCK my cpu to 166 FSB and see what that does. I hate how this motherboard won't let me set the rate of my RAM. I can only set it at 133, 166, 200. I want to set it to EXACTLY what the FSB is. Stupid mobo.

Personally, and I know it doesn't help this situation any, but I see many 3dmark scores with similar systems out there that beat mine by alot.

For example, I've seen scores upwards of 18 to 20K with the same system specs that I barely, with good tweaking ever see over 16K.

Too many variations in drivers, residual drivers, tweaks, settings in the BIOS and I could proabably go on so I finally gave up and settled for the average.
