what you are looking at is an area on my case (Antec lanboy - aluminum)
which was burned through, and made a little hole

the accident also killed my NIC
im lucky nothing else was damaged.. so remember, do not try to unplug things from powerstrips when they are on

Unplugging something from a power strip should not cause that!

It looks to me like a stray wire or something touched that spot and shorted out.

Is there anything touching or near the spot?

If you havn't fixed the reason why that happened, you are dealing with a potentialy fatal electrical/fire risk.

I would recommend getting the case and psu checked out by a competant electrician.

Thats just MO anyway...

on light Al it wouldn't take much even a DC Power supply from a printer or modem/router hiting the case could cause this. Just watch your cords better and don't keep the power strip behind the computer mount it behind or under the desk
