onboard sound?

Hi -

I've got an EPOX 8RDA3+ motherboard with the 6.1 digital (spdif out).

I've got it working for the most part, however, some games (namely MOHAA Spearhead) does not have sound. Also, video playback is very choppy.

Is there anyone out there using the onboard sound with this board having similar issues?

Anyone know what the problem might be?

I've been to the EPOX site and there are no updated drivers that I can find.

thanks for the assistance...

<EDIT> added system specs signatrue not working

try going to http://www.nvidia.com/ and download nVidia's nForce reference drivers

*edit*

http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=nforce_udp_winxp_2.03

there if you run Windows XP

got the updated drivers, but no luck....

if I stop using the 6.1 board, and just plug into the jacks in the back of the motherboard, is there anyway to keep a "mic in" function?

Run through the basics first: The choppy video and bad/no sound may not be related. So you have updated the drivers, that's the first step. Next, what videos are you playing? The ones in MOH:AA? I haven't played that game for more than 5 minutes, and it was only in a multiplayer environment, so I wouldn't know whether the cut scenes are stored on the CD or not. If they are, maybe it's your CD drive that's the culprit. The rest of your system is more than enough to play it with high graphical settings, so it's not that.

And what speakers are you using? All the nForce2's have the S/PDIF, so is that what output your using? Check the sound settings in both Medal Of Honour and in Windows, make sure they are at least using default, generic settings before you start pointing fingers.

Narrow it down, and report back, sir. (geddit, Medal Of Honour, military? LOL...)
